Sarah is an artist and designer based in Cold Spring, New York. Her artistic focus is monotypes, one-of-a-kind works created by painting directly onto a plate and running the plate through a printing press. Sarah is drawn to this style of printmaking because it always includes an element of surprise. Monotypes can also not be reproduced and therefore differ from other printmaking processes like intaglio or lithography where the plates are etched.

Sarah likes to utilize the unique and unexpected textures of both natural and man-made objects such as vegetable wrappers, bubble wrap, leaves or dried flowers in her work. Her inspiration stems from things she sees in her everyday life in Cold Spring and New York City, memories of her travels and her childhood growing up near the ocean in Massachusetts. Through her art, Sarah incorporates her keen sense of color, design and the Yin and Yang of calm and bustling energy creating abstract, modern designs inspired by nature.

Sarah obtained both her B.F.A in Art Studio and B.S degree in Textiles, Fashion Design and Merchandising from The University of Rhode Island. She has continued her printmaking over the past fifteen years at the National Academy and New York School of the Arts in New York City.
